Full Body Decal Installation Guide

We are not responsible for any damage to decals or issues caused by improper installation

We are not responsible for any damage caused to decals after installation, from damage in bush and harsh environments etc.

Please read carefully

- If not applying decals straight away ensure decals are stored in a clean, dry place within bag they are shipped in. Preferably laying flat but can be placed back in box if needed

- If you see any creases or spots lifting do not be alarmed this is just the transfer film (the transparent film on the face of your decal) due to being rolled and shipped, the decal itself is perfectly fine underneath the film

- Decals will need to be modified if you have interfering modifications (snorkel etc)

What's needed

- Provided felt edge squeegee

- Spray bottle with soapy water (2-3 drops of dishwashing liquid per 250ml)

- Masking tape

- Clean cloth or paper towel

- Razor blade or sharp scissors (only if you have interfering modifications)

Follow these steps carefully to get the best finish when applying your decals.

Before You Start

- Work in a clean, dust-free area out of direct sunlight

- Make sure your vehicle is completely dry after cleaning

Step 1: Prepare the Surface

1. Thoroughly wash the vehicle to remove dirt and grime

2. Recommend using a clay bar to remove any contaminants within paint

3. Dry the surface completely

(A smooth surface is critical for proper adhesion and a clean finish)

Step 2: Mock Up & Positioning

1. Hold the decal up to the panel to find the correct position and tape in place, adjust as needed until happy

2. Use masking tape along the edges of the decal to mark alignment points on the car, these are to line up to when applying decal

3. Step back and visually check placement

4. Once happy remove the decals, leaving the tape markers on the car

During this stage is when you will need to cut around any interfering modifications if you have any, using sharp scissors or a razor blade cut around until you have roughly 5mm of clearance, ensure decal is not going to touch anywhere a this will effect finish and longevity of decal.

Step 3: Apply Using the Wet Method

1. Spray soapy water onto the panel where the decal will go

2. Peel the backing off the decal, leaving the decal on the transfer film

3. Place the decal onto the wet surface, aligning it with your tape marks

4. You can slide and adjust the decal into position as needed, take your time and take a step back to check positioning in relation to decals on other panels if others have been applied

Step 4: Squeegee the Decal

1. Starting from the centre, use felt edge of provided squeegee to push water out toward the edges. Apply firm, even pressure

3. Continue until most of water is removed and the decal begins to stick to the surface

Step 5: Remove Transfer Film

1. Once most water is removed and decal has started to stick give the transfer film a spray and let it sit for a few minutes to allow transfer film to loose and decal start to stick, don't leave decal to long as bubbles can get trapped if decal fully sets in place

2.Slowly peel off the transfer film while holding the decal on the car for added support

3.Pull it back flat against the surface (not outward) to avoid lifting the decal

4. If you see some bubbles and the decal lifts slightly don't be alarmed it will all squeegee back nice and flat

5. Now squeegee out all excess water from under the decal and then using a clean cloth or paper towel wipe away all excess water from the decal and the surrounding panel

Step 6: Final Check & Finish

1. Check alignment and adhesion

2.  Squeegee out any remaining water or air bubbles

3. Small bubbles may disappear over time

Step 7: Repeat

 - Repeat the same process for all panels and both sides of the vehicle

Step 8: Finished

 - Grab your Stick N Rip sticker and put it somewhere on your rig, recommend back corner window for wagons and back window for utes

 - Step back and admire the new look of your rig and go out and rip it !

- Take a photo or video and tag us on instagram ( @sticknrip_decals ) for a repost on the page and to be added into your models highlight reel

Aftercare Tips

 - Ideally install decals during the day and keep car dry for 24 hours after install, ( for example if decals are installed at night and left out in moist dewy air water can work its way back under decal as they are not fully stuck down yet )

 - Avoid washing the car for at least 24–48 hours preferably longer

 - Do not use high-pressure water directly on the decals

Take your time with each step - good prep and careful alignment make all the difference in achieving a professional finish, although it is not a hard process and anyone can do it
